Homework Help - Reinforcement

Reinforcement -

A little homework help for your child after school reinforces the concepts presented in class. When used as reinforment, homework is an effective learning tool -- making it easier for your child to learn and remember the concepts.

Sometimes, though, you child is absent from class and the homework assigned that day is basically new material.

When this happens, contact the teacher and ask for:

1. An extension on the due date for the homework.

2. Additional instruction from the teacher prior to completing the homework.

When properly used and understood, homework serves a good purpose. When improperly used or misunderstood, homework is counterproductive and may lead to additional problems in school.

It's important that you understand what homework is for and how it should be used. Once you do, you'll spare yourself and your child the hours of frustration that accompany the misuse of homework.
