Test Preparation Tips

How can you help your child prepare for a big test?

Consider the following test preparation tips:

1. Don't let your child wait until the last minute.

2. Have your child keep a calendar of upcoming tests.

3. Have your child study a little bit every day, so that the material will be transferred from short term memory to long term memory.

4. Have your child review all material to be included on the test.

5. Have your child read all chapters from textbooks -- emphasizing all topics printed in bold type, vocabulary words, and chapter review questions.

6. After your child has finished studying, quiz your child.

7. Make sure your child drinks plenty of water and gets plenty of rest the night before the test.

8. Reinforce with your child that, "If you do your best, you are a success."

Following these tips will improve your child's chances for success.
